Triple J Hottest 100 of ‘08 Countdown

Although legal digital downloads were at an all-time high in 2008, passing the 1 billion mark, there is still an enormous gap between legal and illegal downloading of music.
Illegal downloads were clocked at 40 billion for 2008.
That is a heck of a lot of stolen music!

As previously reported, more than 1 billion tracks were sold digitally in 2008, making it the biggest digital year yet. Digital track sales ended up totalling 1,070 million for the year.
